Turn a single photo into a textured 3D model with TripoSR Image-to-3D, including how to pick good input images, what to expect, and the credit cost.
Image-to-3D reconstructs a textured 3D model from a single photo. You upload one image of an object, TripoSR runs the reconstruction on a cloud GPU, and you get a GLB file you can download and reuse. This is the fastest path when you already have a picture of the thing you want in 3D.
Account and credits
Image-to-3D requires a signed-in account. Each generation costs 12 credits. Failed generations are refunded automatically.
Choosing a good input image
The single input photo does most of the work, so its quality drives the result. Aim for:
- One clear subject. A single object that fills most of the frame works best. Busy scenes with several objects confuse the reconstruction.
- Even, diffuse lighting. Soft, consistent light avoids hard shadows and blown-out highlights that the model can misread as geometry.
- A clean or simple background. A plain background helps the object separate cleanly from its surroundings.
- A front or three-quarter view. A view that shows the object's overall shape gives the model the most to work with.
- Sharp focus. Avoid motion blur and heavy compression so edges and surface detail stay readable.
What to expect
TripoSR reconstructs the visible geometry and texture from your single view. Because it works from one image, surfaces the camera cannot see (the back and deep concavities) are inferred and may be less accurate than the front. Thin structures, transparent materials, and very reflective surfaces are the hardest cases. The output is a textured mesh you can inspect in the browser (drag to rotate, scroll to zoom) before you download it.

Steps
Open Image-to-3D and upload
Sign in, open the Image-to-3D tool, and upload your photo by dragging it in or clicking to select a file.
Generate
Start the task. It costs 12 credits and typically finishes in a couple of minutes on a cloud GPU.
Review and download
Rotate and zoom the preview to check the result, then download the model as a GLB file. Head to Exporting the GLB to use it elsewhere.
